the things you were.

I'm Kyle.
I reside in southeastern Minnesota. Music and Photography are my life. I shoot Nikon. I miss the 90's. A lot of things make me happy.

We’re all obsessed with “views”, “likes”, “followers”, “retweets”, and “plays.” Sometimes we get lost and forget the enjoyment of being an artist and being able to create something no one has ever fabricated. Especially myself. Along with the original posts I do from now on I’m going to write something about that post that I’m proud of. Why? Because I need to get over the fact that I’m miniscule. I am a drop of water that will never have 1000 followers on Twitter/Tumblr, will never have a photo will 1000 views on Flickr, or have a mildly popular song. But that’s okay. I do this because it makes me happy. I’m an attention whore sometimes, but it all boils down to me creating something that I’m proud of. I need to stop overreaching for everyone else’s attention. I’m going to start right now:

Photo: I’m proud of this photo because it was lucky. This was not my intent when I took this shot, but in my mind, it turned out beautifully. This is my girlfriend Shelby Heintz, and I plan on spending the rest of my life with her.

Facebook: This is my Facebook page. And this is the most “likes” I’ve ever gotten on Facebook. Whether all those likes are sincere and meaningful is irrelevant. 45 people is like an entire college classroom saying they enjoy your work. That’s more than enough for me. I’m thankful that I reached those people, and hopefully I can take some free photographs of people that they can enjoy and cherish as much as I do.
